Title 1 Preschool Screenings

Bellingham Public Schools offers free half-day preschools for children who are 3 years old by Aug. 31, 2025, live in the Alderwood or Cordata attendance areas and qualify for the program.

Our Title I preschool program is a free, half-day preschool located at Alderwood and Cordata.  This preschool program focuses on basic academic and social skills to help qualifying students get a high-quality preschool experience in preparation for kindergarten and allows students and families the opportunity to get to know their school community. Students will be screened and may qualify based on space, ability, academic and financial need.

The Bellingham Promise, the strategic plan for Bellingham Public Schools, compels us to do all we can in support of all students at every level of education. One of our key strategies is to enhance and invest in early childhood learning opportunities. We believe offering Title 1 preschool is a positive and critical step in helping your child transition into our schools and starting their journey of lifelong learning.
